It's high noon...Michele Smith to be in Stillwater this weekend: Former Cowgirl Softball star Michele Smith will be in Stillwater this weekend to call the second game of the Cowgirls series against Texas. Scott Wright of the Oklahoman took some time to catch up with her and talk about the Cowgirls and take a look at the series. Q: What have you seen from these two teams so far this season? A: "Texas is having a very good year with the addition of head coach Mike White and some of the Oregon players that have transferred over. It really was a game-changer for the program Myles Jernigan Jersey. And then you add the mainstays that were on the team already and were very, very talented, it's made for a great season. They're performing well."Oklahoma State is a very talented team with a couple transfers who have come in and made a difference, Samantha Show being the biggest of them. She's a two-way player like Miranda Elish, so she's a big hitter in the lineup for Kenny Gajewski, and a big arm in the circle. The big thing you want to see from Oklahoma State right now is consistency." OklahomanDaniel Cormier is giving back to the sport of wrestling: The current UFC heavyweight champion is giving back to a sport that gave him so much by coaching high school wrestling in California where he lives. "Everything is owed to wrestling and I want to give back to this sport as its given to me."Cormier is currently giving back through a job coaching wrestling at Gilroy High School near his home in San Jose, Ca. While it's likely the former two-division UFC champion could easily wait until retirement to land a high-profile coaching job at the college level, Cormier saw an opportunity to help out a local program while working with some bright up-and-coming athletes."I had my wrestling club in San Jose and then when the old Gilroy coach left, they were looking for a coach," Cormier said. "The principal was bold. Not many people would be comfortable asking me to do that, it would just be such a big step outside of what would be even thought possible. He asked if I would consider it and I said let's do it."Once I started to consider it and thinking I was going to do it, I was super excited. Because I felt like this young team was going to be good https://www.cgboutlet.com/Zach_Angelillo_Jersey-101. If we could add a few pieces, we had a chance to compete for a state championship. I was just really excited. I was very aware of Gilroy wrestling already. but to have an opportunity to coach them, it's truly amazing." osdbsports.comFriends become teammates on Cowgirl golf squad: Han-Hsuan Yu and Chih-Min Chen have been friends for years.
